Peace Building, and National Development
Today’s presentations and discussions on Nigerian Corriculum, Peace Building, and National Development were quite insightful. Education is essential for peace and development. However, there is need for adequate training and oversight functions to ensure compliance and application. There is also the pressing need for inclusive education across board to mitigate against the huddles faced by those with special needs outside their comfort zones.
It is essential to have a periodic review of the curriculum for timely and necessary changes.
After an enlightening discussion on the Nigerian school Curriculum, peace building and National Development five successful tertiary students were awarded scholarships by the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan to help reduce their financial burdens to enable better focus on studying to excel in their academic pursuits.
Imagine having to type all your answers using a typewriter while others just tick boxes and still score good grades. That’s the story of one of our beneficiaries, a visually impaired student whose dad is a retired civil servant. More needs to be done, indeed.
The scholarship awardees were grateful as the funds will go a long way to ease their financial burdens and help them focus more on their studies.
